Warrior's Path State Park
Located in the Colonial Heights community of Kingsport, TN, the trail system at Warrior's Path State Park is arguably the most popular riding spot for mountain bikers in the Tri-Cities. The trail system at Warrior's Path State Park offers some riding for most mountain bikers. Give the trails at WPSP a try for some challenging singletrack.

Bays Mountain
This park, located in Kingsport, is one of the most popular riding spots in the area. Approximately 15 miles of trails are open to bikes. The riding is mostly non-technical making it a good choice for beginner riders. Moderately difficult climbs and fast downhills also make the trails fun for more experienced riders. Bays is also a good choice during wet weather.

Steele Creek Park
This Bristol, Tennessee park offers riding for all skill levels. Casual riders can enjoy the scenery around the lake on flat dirt paths while the more advanced can venture into the technical singletrack of the knobs.

Buffalo Mountain
If your're looking for more challenging riding, Buffalo is a good choice. Buffalo is part of the Cherokee National Forest and is located in south Johnson City. You'll find lots of climbing, fast descents, sandy berms, and scenic views of Unaka Mountain and the valley of Unicoi County. The trails include "The Blue Trail", "Mud Hollow", and forest service roads.

Mount Rogers National Recreation Area - This area in Damascus and Abingdon, Virginia offers lots of beautiful scenery and over 100 miles of trails open to mountain bikers of all abilities . In our opinion this is some of the best riding in the Southeast. Some of the popular rides include the Virginia Creeper Trail and the Beartree campground area. Check out this website for other and more advanced trails in the Damascus, Virginia area.

Virginia Creeper Trail
The Virginia Creeper Trail is a rails-to-trails path that runs from Abingdon, Virginia to the old White Top train station. There a several places to get on and off of the trail, but some people prefer to go to the top of the 34-mile path and ride back down. If this is more your speed, shuttle services are available. We recommend Blue Blaze Bike and Shuttle.

Other Areas of Interest - There are many other sweet riding spots within a short drive from the Tri-Cities. Check out Tom Dunigan's " Where to ride site" for East Tennessee, complete with maps and descriptions.
