Trail Descriptions
White Tail
- Length: 2.31 miles
- Difficulty: easy to moderate
- Description: Mostly singletrack with some moderately technical sections. White Tail begins at the end of Lake Valley Road, and ends where Zip Line meets Lake Valley Road. White Tail a good place for beginners to learn some of their singletrack skills, while more experienced riders will enjoy the speed of this piece of fast singletrack.
Lake Valley Road
- Length: 0.8 miles
- Difficulty: easy
- Description: All grassy double-track, Lake Valley Road is a good place for off-road first timers to get outside. Also is a good way to meet up with your favorite trail.
Zip Line
- Length: 0.34 miles
- Difficulty: moderate
- Description: As the name implies, this trail was originally designed to offer riders a trail that you could coast down. Though there are some switchbacks to negotiate, the trail is slightly more techinical than White Tail. Be advised though, most riders travel uphill on Zip Line (going towards the parking lot) now.
Darwin's Revenge
- Length: 2.12 miles
- Difficulty: difficult
- Description: One of the most fun trails for the more experienced rider, Darwin's Revenge offers tight singletrack with some very technical sections of trail. Darwin's revenge begins in the parking lot and ends at the beginning of the Boneyard.
Boneyard
- Length: 2.12 miles
- Difficulty: difficult
- Description: The Boneyard is a fast rolling singletrack with a technical section that gave the trail it's name. This trail would probably be considered moderate, if not for the rock garden dubbed "Boneyard" and a technical climb. Boneyard begins at the end of Darwin's Revenge, and ends on Lake Valley Road between Zip Line and the beginning of Rock City.
Rock City
- Length: 0.55 miles
- Difficulty: difficult
- Description: Rock City is one of the newest trails at the Warrior's Path State Park mountain bike trails. The name describes this trail perfectly; a city of rocks. This trail is without a doubt the most technical trail in the system. Rock City begins between the end of Boneyard and the beginning of Whitetail on Lake Valley Road.
Ridgetop
- Length: 0.48 miles
- Difficulty: moderate to difficult
- Description: The longest climb on the loop, Ridgetop climbs to the top of the ridge. There are some technical sections on this climb, but the difficult rating comes from the last pitch up to the summit. Ridgetop begins approximately 25 yards up hill from the parking lot end of Zip Line. This trail is the only "legal" way to get to the beginning of Magic Carpet Ride.
Magic Carpet Ride
- Length: 0.17 miles
- Difficulty: difficult
- Description: The only true one-way trail at the Warrior's Path State Park mountain bike trail system. Magic Carpet Ride begins at the end of Ridgetop and ends in the parking lot. Magic Carpet Ride is a very fast descent with some burmed corners and some good drops. This trail should ONLY be ridden down hill to the parking lot. Riders riding up hill are preceeding at their own risk.
Notes
Most riders ride these trails in a clockwise direction from the parking lot, in this order: Darwin's Revenge, Boneyard, Rock City, Whitetail, Zip Line, Ridgetop, and lastly Magic Carpet Ride. Of course you can ride these trails in any direction you wish (except Magic Carpet Ride of course). But, for most riders, this is the established loop. But for something different try it counter-clockwise starting with Zip Line, and save Ridgetop and Magic Carpet Ride for last.
